Abstract
The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is becoming relevant in education. It is interesting to know the multiple digital possibilities to incorporate learning strategies mediated by technology, such as serious games. The article presents a systematic literature review and allows to identify learnings derived from serious games in environmental education. The results of the systematic review clarified each research question, discovering a relationship between personal learning environments and the empowerment of people towards issues related to the environment. At the same time, it is identified the influence of gamification within the environmental education, although of greater affinity among young people. Finally, some theoretical, methodological and educational approaches are highlighted, addressed in the studies analyzed, through the use of the so-called educational video games.
