At the most tense moment of the COVID-19 pandemic, solidarity between small businesses and an expansive monetary policy were key to gradually getting out of the economic crisis that the country was going through. Within these small businesses, family businesses stand out, since they have characteristics of solidarity both among their members and among their competitors, key features in times of crisis. For its part, monetary policy, through decreases in interest rates, motivated loans with the aim of encouraging consumer demand, and this was an important factor in sustaining the economy at that time of crisis. In this January-July 2023 issue that RISAD delivers to its readers, the characteristics and importance of family businesses and their succession are highlighted; in addition, of the neoliberal policies that indirectly motivate the demands of citizens and in some way, support companies with their purchases, particularly family ones. Implying with it, a confidence of the society towards the policies, the challenge of a family succession and opportunities for any economic agent through these strategies.
