Abstract

Robert Norton believes that Jakob Fries’s notion of beautiful soul  is similar to Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel’s. However, the author of Philosophy of Right does not explicitly include Fries among the examples of the beautiful soul philosophy. I claim that this absence can be explained because the author of Julius und Evagoras  did not have a notion of the concept similar to Hegel’s
