Is it possible to educate a virtuous man? That is the question that guides these reflections. If the individual sciences, related to the pro-
duction of thought, are not able to problematize the issue of freedom, they will have to answer to our question in negative way. When we have obtained the virtue of knowing how to act in adverse situations, the failure of moral imperatives is exposed. Deeper than this indeterminacy, the original scandal of life consist to find the gift of existence. Anybody has asked for this offering because nobody attends to his beginning. We arrived to an environment that is foreign to us and one mitigates its strangeness through the values that have been set through our surrounding world. Thus, the earth in general starts to become familiar. This immediacy with which the planet is accessible to us, takes practice in the naively man who trusts in the consistency of reality. However, if he stays in habits that dictate “how to act”, he never will be able to discover what an original freedom movement has for him. So, the access to life must match with the possibility to freely rethink the values shared whit the society. This reconstruction should be thought as a “second birth”, so deep, that one attends for the first time to its beginning. Thus, given to a conscience of subjective experiences, the world is experienced by a being who knows how to act. With this practical knowledge the virtuous or wise man is born, the only one how radically opposes to the orientation of thinking.
