The present paper is a reflection on the situation of the philosophy in the Mexican
university. It works, from a reflection on the different functions of the teaching
of philosophy at the University, on a vision of philosophy as an expanded
field, which currently interacts and is related to interdisciplinary work. The text,
thus, is presented as a family essay that links methodologically both the subjective
experience and the objective conditions of the teaching of philosophy and
its contribution to institutions of higher education in the post-university era.
