In this article, it will be done a review about the philosophy at the Royal and
Pontifical University of Mexico, during the second half of the XVIII century
and until the first decades of the XIX century, when it was first closed, particularly
the change made in the studies content. The analysis of this period
is important because the scholastic tradition received critics about the philosophical
teaching and brought an attempt of update.
