Abstract
Science dissemination is an activity with social impact because it involves sharing scientific knowledge with the public not used to science. In this sense, the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation in Mexico, promotes the term Universal Access to Knowledge, a state of social well-being that can be reached through science dissemination actions with a broad, open and equitable approach. To learn about the most important challenges that researchers in Mexico face when disseminating through channels available on the internet, a Focus Group session was held with specialists who are part of the National System of Researchers. The opinions were analyzed with the Grounded Theory methodology, to know the characteristics of the phenomenon from the perception of those who participated and describe the most relevant concepts, as well as the most important of them. According to the analysis of results, communication strategies are the most important challenge when carrying out science dissemination. And it is necessary to use a brief, clear and concrete language that is according to the characteristics and styles of each medium used. It is concluded that, scientific dissemination for Universal Access to Knowledge through internet media is a teaching-learning process that requires institutional support, development of technological skills in researchers and active participation of the general public. With this work, it contributes to the study of science dissemination as an instrument of broad, open and equitable dissemination of scientific knowledge for the benefit of all.
