Being a teacher in times of pandemic: from traditional teaching competencies to the development of digital competencies at higher education

The use of teaching competencies in the educational field arises as a response to the demands of the work context, therefore, teachers at all levels, including higher education, have sought their professionalization in this model. However, the skills that they must develop are continually modified according to the needs of society, in this sense, confinement by covid-19 has led education professionals to rethink the teaching competencies that teachers must have to peform their dutie, so this work reviews teaching competencies and digital teaching competencies in a comparative manner, within the framework of confinement due to COVID-19.
