Determinantes socio económicos del éxito olímpico: potencia económica y desempeño deportivo

Se estudia la relación de factores económicos y demográficos con el desempeño y éxito Olímpico. A diferencia de otros estudios, se analiza un período de tiempo prolongado que abarca los años que van desde 1960 hasta 2024, contando con múltiples ediciones de los Juegos Olímpicos en una estructura de panel desbalanceado. Utilizando modelos de regresión con efectos fijos, corroboramos que la estructura de superioridad Olímpica individual no ha variado en el tiempo y que depende fuertemente de factores políticos y sociales específicos a cada país. Finalmente, logramos una predicción acertada de la participación individual en el medallero total a lo largo del tiempo y las distintas geografías.
