Animation as a tool for children’s reading comprehension during the COVID-19 pandemic
Main Article Content
Abstract
This text presents the design, development and application of a mobile app based mainly on animated stories Its purpose is to complement the educational processes so that children in basic education learn to read and understand what they read through activities that they can do at school or at home. Various animated video stories adapted from Mexican stories and legends are presented. During the confinement caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the mobile app was provided to parents with children in kindergarden or in the first grades of elementary school so that they could implement it at home during their online classes. The comments were positive, since cartoons and video games attract a lot of children's attention, which leads to autonomous learning, in addition to the fact that they are activities that they enjoy a lot at that age. This encourages the use of 2D and 3D animation within innovative strategies that allow the infant to develop new skills.
