Estimation of the electric energy generated in dairy farms by bio-digesters and solar panels
Main Article Content
Abstract
The use of wastes generated in the dairy production systems such as the use or irradiated energy by the sun can be an alternative to increase the active flows and reduce the carbon footprint in these systems. Therefore, the objetive of this study was to estimate the electric energy generated and combined with solar panels technology and anaerobic digestors in intensive dairy production systems in the central region of Mexico. The estimated electricity generated by methane burning and solar panels in a a farm with 914 cows was 96579.6 bimonthly. This represents a decrease of 39.3% in the direct consumption of the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and 63% of the ecological footprint. The investment is recovered within 10 years with the help of carbon credits.
