From the welfare and liberal state to the innovative state. A theoretical discussion
Main Article Content
Abstract
As part of a broader research study of which the objective is to empirically analyze the extent to which the Mexican State prevents the appropriation and social innovation of technology and, as a consequence, the reduction of unemployment, this article aims to present a theoretical approach on the subject. The analytical framework which is used suggests that current social problems such as poverty and technological unemployment have forced the emergence of social innovations since neither the market nor the state have been able to solve them. We conclude that the reconfiguration of the Welfare State needs to be done in light of the concept of social innovation, especially in developing countries due to the conditions of economic inequality and digital divide that they present.
