Youth cultures in Guadalajara: Expressions of identity and make visible female

Abstract

The present article exposes in a general way the identity symbols that characterize some of the youth cultures that exist today in the city of Guadalajara, it stops later on to outline some of the main environments of expression of these cultures (the body, the city, the arts, the violence, the new technologies, the neighborhood, the streets, the public square, etc.). It describes the women presence in some of these youth expressions, usually denied from several studies on this theme and it closes with the emphasis on the necessity of knowing these proposals better, without falling in the “temptation” to sanction them and to control them.
