Educational challenges confronting the National College of Technical Vocational Education in the face of the Covid-19 health pandemic4811

Abstract

The objective of the study was to investigate the didactic strategies and emerging challenges implemented by the National College of Technical Vocational Education in response to the Covid-19 health pandemic. A qualitative methodology of content analysis and participant observation was used for data collection. Seminars were reviewed through webinars and documents issued by the College, which included guidelines and strategies to follow in order to give continuity to virtual education in the context of the contingency. The results of the seminars in which twelve states of the Mexican Republic participated, showed with clarity and precision the actions and strategies to follow, affirming that students have responded favourably to the strategies implemented to carry out their school activities, but there are also a significant number who have had difficulties in fulfilling these tasks, which has made evident the socio-economic inequality of the students of this subsystem. This experience leads to new challenges in the restructuring of the curriculum and in-depth revision of the technical courses taught at the College, according to new times and new socio-environmental and health problems.
